? Philadelphia Phillies Online Betting
Philadelphia Phillies betting odds can be found on all Pennsylvania sportsbooks operating online. In addition, you can bet on all Major League Baseball games and team futures.
Unlike league rivals the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Phillies have had a great run in the past few seasons, culminating in the 2022 World Series. Despite losing to the Astros back then, the Phillies are in it for the long haul this season too.
? Betting Tips
If you are a Phillies fan who’s new to sports betting, you might be looking for some tips. Below we’ve listed a couple of pointers you can follow when starting out with your chosen betting site.
- Keeping Up with the Pitchers: As pitching can be all over the place during the season, keep a close eye on the stats for each of the starters. A hot streak might persuade you to place some additional bets.
- Avoid Run Lines: Most baseball bettors place moneyline bets instead of runlines. Baseball is probably the most unpredictable of the major US sports, so it’s a good idea to go with the majority here when it comes to the Phillies.
- Check the Harper Props: Bryce Harper is by far the most important player for the Phillies and when he doesn’t play, the team has a disadvantage already. Check your favorite books to see if there’s some good odds for Harper props when he does play, as he delivers the hits and runs consistently.
? How to Bet on the Phillies
There are a few basic bet types that every sportsbook has for teams sports like baseball. You can find these when you click on MLB and search for the game you want to wager on. While all sports betting sites offer these bets, the odds might vary considerably. It’s always a good idea to sign up for a few sites to be able to bet on the games with the most favorable odds. You can also combine several of these into a parlay bet.
Moneyline
A moneyline bet is very simple to understand: you bet for one team to win. The odds tell you which one is the favorite. You should always consider both sides in the game as betting on the underdog will earn you more money if you win.
Spread/Run Line
Spread betting, or run line betting, is a bit more complicated, but often worthwhile to expert bettors. If you bet on the favorite here, you expect them to win by more runs than the handicap (often 1.5, meaning they would need to win by two or more runs).
On other side, the underdog only needs to stay within one run or win the game for the underdog bettors to win. It is difficult to consistenly beat the spread, but if you dive into stats, these could earn you more than moneyline bets.
Total
A total bet is on the total number of runs from both teams and whether it’s over or under a pre-determined number, like 8 or 7.5. If the end score is 7-5, the over bettors win.
Futures
Futures are bets on future events, as you might have guessed. You can bet on a division, league, and World Series winner, as well as on the MVP on some books.
Props
Proposition bets, aka props, can determined for both individual players and teams. Player props can include such wagers as hitting a home run or throwing a no-hitter, while team props inlude options like first team to hit a homerun. There are plenty of choices for both pre-game and in-game bets.

? 2023 Season
In the offseason, the Phillies gained some notable new team members like pitcher Taijuan Walker and shortstop Trea Turner. As the team had made it all the way to the World Series in 2022, there were plenty of expectations for them at the start of the 2023 campaign.
However, Philadelphia fell 1-5 in their first games and things were looking bleak. Phillies bounced back during April and went 15-14 in the month, just to falter a little more in May.
Philadelphia did get things going in June and the rest of the season was good enough to get them back into the post season. After winning the NL Wild Card and Division series, the Phillies fell 3-4 to the Diamondbacks.
? Post-Season Appearances
The Philadelphia Phillies are 68-65 in the postseason, having most recently played in the NL Championship series in 2023. The team has won the World Series twice, in 1980 and 2008.
During their 140 seasons, the Phillies have made the playoffs just 16 times and only twice in the last 10 years (2022, 2023). Prior to that, the team appeared in the playoffs in 2011 when they lost in the Divisional round.

- 4?? What's a run line?

A runline means the spread, often in baseball it's -/+1.5. A minus sign indicates the favorite; if Phillies have a -1.5 spread, they need to win by two runs or more for your bet to win. If you bet on their opponent with +1.5, they just need to stay within two or win the game for that bet to win.
